About the oral exam
The muntlig A2–B1 norskprøve is a 20–25-minute conversation, taken in pairs, about everyday topics — family, health, work, the environment. You need to speak about them with confidence, under pressure.
Memorizing 2,000 random words doesn't help when the examiner asks about your family.
Reading drills don't prepare you to speak under time pressure.
MuntligB1 is built around the exam, start to finish.
If you can't yet form a basic sentence in Norwegian, start somewhere else. This is exam prep, not a beginner course.
SEE THE FEEDBACK
A sample answer, shown in the app's real feedback screen. Scored on fluency, comprehensibility, vocabulary, grammar, and content, with the mistakes it finds marked and corrected. (Pronunciation is judged live on exam day.) You get this after every simulation answer.
«Hva gjør du på fritiden?»
På fritiden liker jeg å løpe og lese bøker. Jeg løper tre ganger i uka, vanligvis om morgenen. Jeg har begynt å lese norske bøker fordi jeg vil forbedre meg på norsk. Sist uke jeg leste en veldig interessant bok om norsk historie.
💡 You said Sist uke jeg leste — the natural order is Sist uke leste jeg. Norwegian is a V2 language: when a sentence opens with a time phrase, the verb must come before the subject.
💡 You said forbedre meg på norsk — the natural phrase is forbedre norsken min. «På norsk» means "in Norwegian" (the language you speak in), not the skill you're improving.
✅ Good use of fordi with correct word order, and har begynt is exactly right for something you started recently and are still doing.

“This app has literally rewired my mind to speak Norwegian. I went from freezing mid-sentence to actually holding a conversation. The structure is unlike anything else I've tried.”
“Jeg øver nesten hver dag på nettsiden, og det hjelper meg med å lære mer norsk. Hvis du vil bestå norskprøven på et høyere nivå, anbefaler jeg å bruke muntligB1.com hver dag.”

WHAT'S INSIDE

How It Works
Take a quick written vocabulary & grammar check and get an honest read on your level — no signup needed.
Work through the topics: build the words, shape the sentences, then speak your answers out loud and get feedback on each one.
Run a timed, three-part mock in the real exam format — so exam day isn't the first time you feel it.
Why MuntligB1
HK-dir doesn't publish an official syllabus. But the exam draws on everyday themes, so we mapped those themes into 13 topics. Each one gives you the words, the sentences, and the speaking practice for that topic — 823 words and 236 sentences in all. 221 of the questions are ones real candidates were asked, taken from what they posted publicly after the exam.
Not just "good job." Real scoring on fluency, comprehensibility, vocabulary, grammar, and content — plus line-by-line corrections.
Practise as long as you want before you decide to sign up. Try it first, decide after.
